Fall is here and it's a reminder that the end of the year is nearing. It also means your dental insurance benefit renews soon. For most, the renewal coincides with the beginning of the new year, but some insurances reset in the October-November time frame. The time to figure out when your plan will renew is now!
A typical dental insurance plan will reimburse up to $1500-2000 of dental expenses a year. Most plans cover 100% of diagnostic and preventative services, 80% for fillings, and 50% for major dental work (crowns, root canals, extractions, etc). Knowing what percentages your plan covers is very important in helping to determine your out-of-pocket expense for various procedures.
Unfortunately, remaining benefits will not carry over to the next year! Many people lose a good majority of that dental benefit by not taking action. Check with your provider or the front desk to see if you have any unfinished treatment and utilize the rest of your remaining benefit!
At Eleven Eleven we are blessed to have an amazing front desk staff that can help you determine the details of your plan. Kathy, Lacy and Rachel are professional and always willing to help. Whether you are a patient of our office or not, we hope that you will use this time of the year to check in with your provider and use your remaining insurance to complete unfinished treatment!
Our awesome assistant Sara McCallister will be starting her Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) training in Olympia tonight. We’re so proud of Sara for continuing to expand her dental education. The process of applying and being accepted into the EFDA program is both competitive and difficult. This 9-month training will teach Sara how to place dental restorations like composite (white fillings) and amalgams (silver fillings) in a patient’s mouth after the dentist has removed all the decay. Again, we are so proud of Sara for her desire to increase her skills so that they can be a benefit to our wonderful patients! Good luck Sara!
